City of Evanston
Hispanic Heritage Month

The City of Evanston is a vibrant neighborhood just north of Chicago. It has a population of approximately 75,000. It borders Lake Michigan and home to Northwestern University. It celebrates the beauty of its location and diversity of its residents.

The Hispanic Heritage Month was created to celebrate the hispanic community and culture of Evanston.

I worked with the city manager to kick off the event with a design that was vibrant, colorful and inspired by hispanic culture. I designed the logo to reflect hispanic patterns/tiles, colors and bold typography with texture. The colors are rich and symbolic. The terracotta, orange and yellow gold tones represent flowers, spices, the land, rustic beauty, the sun and celebrations. The illustration of folklore dancers added interest and cultural heritage to the posters, flyers and social media.
